Incentive Award Scholarship
General Information
NM MESA students in the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades are able to earn scholarship monies, to be awarded during their 1st year of college. Up to $1000 can be earned, depending on the amount of effort the student puts into both MESA activity participation and academic achievement. Students must actively participate in NM MESA both their junior and senior year in order to qualify to receive any monies.
HIGH SCHOOL INCENTIVE AWARD GUIDELINES
MESA members must complete the following requirements to be eligible for the Incentive Award:
- Submit Parent Permission Form (A-1) and Student Profile Form (A-2).
- Participate in a minimum of 12 tutoring sessions per school year.
- Attend a minimum of 18 MESA meetings per school year.
- Participate in a minimum of one MESA service learning activity per school year.
- Complete 4 credits of college preparatory math, science and English upon high school graduation.
- Active membership junior and senior year is required for students to receive any monies.
Please note the following:
- Members who do not meet ALL of the incentive award eligibility requirements each year are not eligible for an award for those respective school years.
- Transfers to a non-MESA high school will be considered on an individual basis.
- Member and parent/guardian agree that final authority on Incentive Awards and of the NM MESA program is the sole responsibility of NM MESA, Inc.
- Grades and test scores, etc. are verified using the members’ official transcript that is requested in the spring of the current calendar year.
